Ghostcards From The Edge

Terence Davey is a musician and artist from Folkestone UK. Terry grew up in Folkestone in the 70s and 80s, moved to California and returned to live in Sandgate in the 90s. Experiments with audio and video tape began as a teen. This steered him down a technical path where he has collaborated and worked with artists and composers such as; Joanna Jones (as one half of Being), Sir Peter Maxwell Davies and Roderick Watkins. This series of 'Ghostcards' (produced under the Z:UTS moniker) utilise stills and camcorder video from some of the many weird walks he and his partner have trudged over the last twenty years. The images are manipulated, filtered and animated and used to inspire the original accompanying music. Informed by a notion of hauntology and a sense of past events held in stasis, these barriers, edges and veils between worlds trigger the imagination to ghostly revelations.
