Dominic Pillai is a film director and video artist based in Folkestone. Taking a uniquely holistic approach to the moving image, Dominic aims to explore the therapeutic potential of the medium by creating work that blurs the boundaries between narrative, documentary and experimental film. Dominic Pillai is currently working on ‘Rivers of My Father’ a documentary hybrid that explores the themes of memory and identity through his relationship with his father who has dementia. In this event Dominic will discuss the film, showing footage recently shot in India, but also look at how memory and identity has influenced and inspired cinema in a greater sense.
